Can Cataract be treated without Surgery

Normal vs Cataract Eye

Cataract is a common age-related condition, which almost never presents itself as an emergency. Which means you have enough time to “choose” the optimal line of treatment for yourself, if you are well-aware of the facts, alternatives and risks.

Initially, just changing the glass prescription may improve the vision as cataract worsens. But cataract may progress enough to necessitate surgery for better sight. Cataract surgery is done when you can no longer see well to do activities that you need or want to do – e.g. driving, reading, etc. Cataract can’t be treated with medication.
